Kurukulla is a Tantric Buddhist deity in charge of authority and dharma, and it is also considered the manifestation of the Red Drolma among the 21 Drolmas, as well as the goddess of power in the Tibetan Buddhism. Her face symbolizes the unity of dharmata (the true nature of reality); her three eyes stands for her understanding of the past, present and future; her four arms represents four achievements or ultimate spirits; and her angry look signifies her capacity to surrender the four evils.
Wearing a crown decorated with five skulls and bone earrings, she features upswept golden hair, three wide-open eyes, a rolled tongue and exposed teeth. One of her left hands holds a bow, and the corresponding right hand clenches an arrow ready to be shot. Another right hand is in upwards tarjani mudra and the corresponding right one in downwards tarjani mudra. Wearing a fluttering keyura, Kurukulla stamps on the heart of a foreign she-devil by her left leg solely, with the right one bent and the solar disk as the pedestal.
