合掌觀音，三十三觀音之一。以虛心合掌，故有此名。

本尊造像意塑造經行中的觀音菩薩。經行，謂在一定的處所緩慢地往返步行。觀音菩薩高貴出塵，身材修長，肩膀略削，輕合雙掌，優雅甯靜，念念于覺知中。造像面容莊重肅穆，深沈內省，神聖莊嚴，衣飾簡潔，線條飽滿，雕刻手法准確明晰，立體傳神，韻味悠長，目睹觀音菩薩澄明寂靜之相好莊嚴令人動容。

The Avalokitesvara with a Gassho Gesture is one of the 33 manifestations of Avalokitesvara. The name originates from the palm-pressed pious gesture of his hands.This statue is designed to present Avalokitesvara during kinhin,which means the walking meditation, an alternative practice of zazen, the sitting meditation. With his hands gently in a gassho gesture, Avalokitesvara senses his stillness and motion while murmuring, demonstrating his peacefulness and elegance. The serene Bodhisattva has a fine and delicate face, slightly uplifted spiral hair, curved brows, downcast eyes and closed lips with an immaculate kasaya on his slender figure and soft shoulders.
